I carry no torch for Megan and Harry. Their pursuit of privacy, via a thousand red carpets, endless celebrity appearances, royal bashing interviews and curated photoshoots is, in the end, quite nauseating
And now they have released the dancing duo of the delivery room, in a clip which really should have been kept for their family viewing, or, dare I say, for private viewing. It is a mistake to have released it, and one must only hope that they don’t have up their sleeve, a further release of some kind of Paris Hilton type sex tape.
And yet the video has some element of charm to it. It is clearly an intimate moment, and they appear to be very much in love and are enjoying their time together. And perhaps, it nails, and was intended to nail, the frequent claims that Megan was never pregnant and wore a false bump, although even that is now under attack from the legions of “royal experts”.
It is doubtful that any couple, in the history of media coverage, have been so relentlessly attacked as these two. You may say it is of their own doing, that they deserve everything that is thrown at them.
But it is worth noting that the avalanche of social media attacks nearly all contain words like “alleged”; “it is reported” ;“sources”; “insiders”; “rumours”; “eyewitnesses” and so on. And they rarely show the actual alleged booing crowds, the red-carpet confrontations, the reported denials of admission, or the hostile celebrities.
If they didn’t deserve it so much one would be bound to have some degree of sympathy.
So where will it all end? Or more importantly, how will it all end? No one, amongst the massed ranks of the “royal experts” will be fully satisfied until they break the couple, until she and he divorce, or perhaps until she and he commit suicide.
It is almost bound to end in tragedy.
For me, I intend to cut, delete, remove and unfollow all the royal experts that clutter up everyone’s social media accounts. It’s all become rather boring. I shall keep an ear for Piers Morgan. He was amongst the first to expose the duplicity of the pursuit of privacy, and the first to nail the lies they pedalled about the royal family. As for the rest, I shall not miss them.
I find the relentless pursuit of the pair distasteful……will there ever be a day when I can look at the news without some new photograph or article appearing?
