From SIR KIER STARMER, FIRST DRAFT OF OUR PROPSOSED KING’S SPEECH TO THE hOUSES OF PARLIAMENT

THE KING’S SPEECH

 (DRAFT)

HIS MAJESTY’S MOST GRACIOUS SPEECH TO BOTH HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT

MY LORDS AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF COMMONS

My Government’s priority is to re-establish equity and fairness in the public realm while strengthening the economy, increasing public sector investment and encouraging growth in our economy, ensuring that the most vulnerable in our society are protected from the cost-of-living increases and any prospect of inflation.

My Government will place priority on the issues of equality and diversity.

My Government will introduce amendments to the Equality Act 2010 to ensure that it is an act of discrimination contrary to law, to fail to acknowledge and respect the decision of any person, in England and Wales, over the age of 10 years, who chooses an alternative gender to that which they were allocated at birth. An appendix of approved genders will be annexed to the said Statute at Appendix “A” pages 1 to 96. These amendments will be known as the Izzard amendments.

My government will make provision for it to be an act of discrimination contrary to law, to fail to acknowledge or respect the preferred personal pronouns of persons in England and Wales over the age of 10 years. An appendix of approved personal pronouns will be annexed to the Statute as Appendix “B” pages 1 to 126.

The Minister of Equality will be empowered to add to the appendices of gender and preferred pronouns by way of Order in Council.

In these challenging times, my Government will play a leading role in defending democracy and the right to protest and will bring forward a bill requiring local authorities, where a collective protest right is being exercised by six or more persons, to appoint a Right to Protest supervisor who will oversee the lawful provision of adequate high visibility clothing, gender neutral toilet facilities, together with proper rest and refreshment rooms and further ensure the availability of an on-duty lawyer and an on-duty medical emergency support.

It will be an arrestable offence to interfere with the right to protest or to fail to make proper provision in accordance with this Bill.

My Government will drive economic growth to improve living standards and fund sustainable investment in public services. This will be achieved in part by the re-nationalisation of all those entrepreneurial industries and institutions and services privatised since 1979 and extending the principle of nationalisation to such further industries and services as may be determined by my Government to include the commanding heights of the economy.

My government will introduce a Climate change Bill that will provide for it to be an unlawful act to deny, in spoken or written material, the existence of the threat of Global warming and Climate change.

My Government will introduce a Trade Union Membership bill to require all persons in work in England and Wales to be a member of a recognised Trade Union, including members of the armed forces and police officers. Failure to abide by the said requirement will be deemed an act of gross misconduct and grounds for dismissal from employment.

My Government will seek to renegotiate the terms of the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union to support economic growth and to re-enter our long relationship with the European Court of Justice.

My Government will continue championing security around the world. It will continue to invest in our gallant Armed Forces. My Ministers will work closely with 9 international partners to maintain a united NATO and address the most pressing global security challenges. We will continue to support the State of Israel and will make it an offence in law to promote the interests of Palestine.
