A brilliant idea. The lost and wandering ghosts of King Hamlet and “alas I knew him well” Yorik, arguing, debating, mocking each other as they discuss a way to frighten the shite out of the castle battlements guards and annonce tot the world that King Hamlet was murdered most foul.. It’s funny and poignent witty and clever, until the moment “alas poor Yorik” begins to teach the ghost of Hamlet what to say and how to say it, when he finally appears, ghostly on the castle battlements.
Yorik shows him how. He solemly address the castle wall/audience with those powerful words of Shakespeare himself “I am thy father’s sprit, doomed for a certain term to walk the night”
Wow! You could almost feel a shiver run through the audience as suddenly, all that fun between the ghosts, all that banter, brevity, wit turn to life and to death and the great revenge begins.
Oh dear! you will never again see Hamlet in quite the way you did!
